On the Day of Pentecost, 28 May 2023, the Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Woodcroft, Bishop of Rupert's Land, celebrated with us at Holy Trinity. During the liturgy, the bishop blessed our new baptismal tank which we immediately used to baptize Cinna and Kyle (not pictured).

The celebration was joyful, inspired, and attracted the attention of passers-by and people out for an evening at the Met Centre.

The Church, for many years, has baptized people primarily as infants using the sprinkling of water in small fonts. During the liturgical reforms of the 20th century, the Anglican Church of Canada reclaimed the model of Jesus's own baptism: as an adult via full immersion in the River Jordan.

Most Anglican churches do not have tanks big enough for an adult to be immersed, but Holy Trinity now does. What a powerful witness it has already been to our neighbourhood about the call of God to new life. May there be many more to come!
