A longtime resident of downtown Winnipeg, Andrew is very glad to be ministering in the neighbourhood that he and his husband call home.
In addition to an undergraduate degree in history and a Master of Divinity degree (professional training for the priesthood), Andrew also holds a Master of Arts in theology, specializing in liturgical theology. He is always keen to discuss Christian history, liturgy, and the many saints and holy people in our tradition's history. Prior to ordained ministry, Andrew spent many years as a church musician, playing the organ and directing choirs.
Andrew serves on a number of committees and working groups at the diocesan and national levels. He was the Anglican co-chair of the National Worship Conference in 2021. Andrew also writes regularly for the parish, the Rupert's Land News, and other publications. He maintains an archive of his preaching and writing at the website Bookish Priest. In his spare time, Andrew reads, bakes, and is regularly humbled by his efforts in fibre arts.
We meet, work, and worship on Treaty One land. These are the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Metis nation. We are grateful for their stewardship of this land, for the gift of water from Shoal Lake, and for their hospitality which allows us to live, work, serve, and worship God the Creator here. We acknowledge our responsibilities as treaty people and commit to the work of reconciliation. We pray that our actions will match our words.
